Tournament House

The chewing gum magnate, William Wrigley Jr., bought this Italian Renaissance mansion in 1914. The 3-story, 18,500 sq ft home sits on 4.5 acres surrounded by a beautiful garden with over 1,500 varieties of roses and camellias. It was the favorite home of the six that the Wrigleys owned across the country. William Wrigley once said, “Southern California is like taking up golf—once you start, you can never give it up!!”

Mrs. Ada Wrigley loved watching the floats and parade with family and friends from the comfort of her front porch and lawn. Upon her passing in 1958, the estate gave the mansion to the City of Pasadena with the stipulation that it serve as the Tournament of Roses headquarters, as a symbol of their mother’s love of the Parade.

Inside the house you will find 125 years of Rose Parade memorabilia, beautiful crowns and tiaras worn by the Royal Court, and unforgettable football mementos. The house offers FREE tours on Thursday afternoons from February to August. Reservations are required.
