Colorado Street Bridge

This beautiful Beaux-Arts bridge was completed in 1913 and was proclaimed to be the highest concrete bridge in the United States. Before this bridge, the crossing of the Arroyo Seco required horses and wagons to descend steep slopes, and crossings were severely impacted by rain and flooding.

The bridge connected Pasadena to downtown Los Angeles, helping the young Pasadena community grow and connect with its neighbors. The bridge is 148 feet tall at its highest point and was part of the original Route 66 highway. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The bridge offers beautiful views and has a pedestrian walkway designed with 10 alcoves and decorative lamp posts. This scenic bridge has been featured in many movies, including the bungee jump scene with Jim Carrey in Yes Man and more recently the “date night” scene from La La Land (2016).
