norton simon museum

Named after billionaire industrialist and philanthropist Norton Simon. Since his passing in 1993, the Norton Simon Museum has been known around the world as one of the most remarkable private art collections ever assembled.

Over a 70-year period, the businessman amassed a vast collection of European art ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th century. He also had a stellar collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years.

Some of the most famous works at the museum are Raphael’s Madonna with Child and Book, Rembrandt’s Self-Portrait, and Van Gogh’s Mulberry Tree.

The museum has a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden with ponds and benches to enjoy sitting outside, plus a great gift store filled with one-of-a-kind art-themed items.
