Named after billionaire industrialist and philanthropist Norton Simon. When he passed away in 1993, NSM is known around the world as one of the most remarkable private art collections ever assembled.

Over a 70-year period the businessman, amassed a vast collection of European art ranging from the renaissance to the 20st century. He also had a stellar collection of south and southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years.

Some of the most famous works at the museum are Raphael’s Madonna with Child and Book, Rembrandt’s self portrait and Van Goghs Mulberry Tree
